As a UI Designer, you will work closely with our UI team, artists, and designers to develop the concept and implement user interfaces for innovative games, with UI’s and game features that result in a fun, engaging and accessible experience for our players. You will be working on one of our exciting new projects – a AAA IP in the strategy genre.

Third Kind Games is a growing, independent game developer based in Royal Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, the heart of the UK games industry. Third Kind was founded in 2016, by a group of industry veterans from many high profile companies such as Activision, Codemasters, Sony, Crytek and more.

  • You will support consistent implementation throughout the gaming interface.

  • You will work with the UI team and your focus is on implementing an interface that satisfies the requirements of the UX design, game design, whilst supporting the creative and technical needs to give players the best experience.

  • A team player, you will be the primary point of contact for the UI implementation, supporting

  • frequent communication and good coordination between design, art, and engineering functions.

  • With an ability to see the detail, you will ensure the final product meets the specifications and exceeds expectations.

  • Your passion for gaming will allow you to carry out comparative analysis of other relevant games, determining what makes them great and what can be learned from them.

  • You will make useful contributions to our creative planning sessions, scrums, and retrospectives and help us drive the development of our projects and the team.

  • You have an understanding of the UI principles behind games.

  • You enjoy being the point of contact for our squads.

  • You will be a generalist, and you are an advocate for UI design to our teams.

  • You will be motivated by creative freedom, ground-breaking challenges, and unknown territory.

  • You will be able to work alone and also as part of a team, whilst knowing when to ask for advice from your colleagues.

  • 2+ years industry experience as a UI Designer in a gaming environment.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Intermediate experience in Unity.

  • Able to collaborate on UI feature implementation.


  • Some experience with programming or scripting.

It is a beautiful spa town with great shopping, dining, and recreational spaces, situated close to Warwick, Shakespeare’s Stratford, and the Cotswolds.


The company has recently moved to a charming new office located directly in the centre of Royal Leamington Spa, just a 1 minute walk from the shops and cafes.
