SENIOR
ANIMATOR

As a Senior Animator you will work on all areas of game animation across our new projects, working with our team to create innovative and inspiring animation that sets new benchmarks. 

Third Kind Games is an independent game studio based in Royal Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, the heart of the UK games industry. Third Kind was founded in 2016, by a group of industry veterans from many high profile companies such as Activision, Codemasters, Sony, Crytek and we have been growing ever since. 

We’re now one of the largest independently owned game dev studios, we have also launched our new studio in Poland, built on the same shared TKG spirit and values.

We work with some of the biggest AAA names in the industry such as Blizzard, Amazon, Microsoft and Mythical Games. Alongside our client projects, we’re also working on our own IP, so it’s a super exciting time at Third Kind Games!

ROLE OVERVIEW
  • You will work with our client and team on the animation of an innovative variety of characters and props.

  • Contribute to and improve our animation and art pipelines.

  • You will work closely with colleagues and customers to develop and deliver the desired visual targets for the game.

  • You will make useful contributions to our creative planning sessions, scrums, and retrospectives and help us drive the development of the project and the team.

IDEAL CANDIDATE
  • Demonstrate good mechanics and the fundamentals of animation, evidenced in your portfolio

  • Fundamental understanding of game development processes

  • Expertise in the areas of motion, facial capture and keyframe animation

  • Proficient in key frame and motion capture workflows

  • Knowledge of the implementation of core game systems and mechanics

  • You prefer a creative, open-thinking environment rather than being guided by specs and detailed requirements

  • You are a team player, but also work on your own, whilst knowing when to ask for advice from your colleagues

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS
  • 4+ years' industry experience working in gaming environments

  • Experience with 3D software such as Maya, 3DS Max and Motionbuilder

  • Experience using game engines including Unity or Unreal

  • Proven ability working in a team

  • Good communication skills and an eye for detail

DESIRED
  • Experience working with partners
