Third Kind Games, is a growing, independent game developer based in Royal Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, the heart of the UK games industry.

Third Kind was founded in 2016, by a group of industry veterans from many high profile companies such
as Activision, Codemasters, Sony, Crytek and more.

Third Kind focuses on emerging technologies and greenfield projects, supported by a dynamic and
creative team who are able to explore new ground in this ever changing landscape.

Our latest title in development is Blankos Block Party, a collectables game using blockchain technology, where the player can build their own worlds, create their own MMO gameplay, and blend their Blankos to create totally unique new characters.

We are always expanding and we are looking for others to join us as Third Kinders.

  • Work with our team to support the delivery of fresh and innovative visuals for games.

  • Several years experience in leading and managing artists to deliver projects on time.

  • Maintain a close working relationship with the management team, producers, leads, directors and. other teams to raise project quality.

  • Encourage creativity, innovation and participation from your team.

  • Provide regular review and feedback on member’s performance.

  • You will play an active role in the mentoring and development of your team.

  • Several years experience in managing Art pipelines and workflows.

  • Strong artistic skills combined with a problem solving attitude.

  • Share knowledge and recommend best practices across the team and business.

  • Actively participate in the constant improvement of work methods and processes.

  • Experience in Unity or other game engines.

  • Have the motivation and passion to keep up to date with industry developments and bring efficiencies and increased quality, whilst growing your skill set.

  • You will be a team player, but also work autonomously, whilst knowing when to ask for advice from your colleagues.

  • The ability to lead and contribute to Scrum meetings helping to drive the artistic development of the project and the team.

  • Several years experience as a Lead Artist working on video gaming titles.

  • 3 years + experience in 3D packages for example; Autodesk Softimage, 3D Studio Max, Maya, IXSI, LightWave and ZBrush.

  • Proficient in 2D authoring software for example; Quixel, Ndo, Substance Design, Substance Painter and Photoshop.

  • Passionate about making games visuals and supporting our approach to emerging technologies and industry developments.

  • Creative, detail-oriented, resourceful, and able to work under pressure.

Royal Leamington Spa is a well known hub for game development in the UK. It has become known as Silicon Spa for its booming population of game developers and businesses, and it has a rich history in game development dating back over 30 years. It is a beautiful spa town with great shopping, dining, and recreational spaces, situated close to Warwick, Shakespeare’s Stratford, and the Cotswolds.


The company has recently moved to a charming new office located directly in the centre of Royal Leamington Spa, just a 1 minute walk from the shops and cafes.
